ABOUT MASC
The Mid Atlantic Safety Council (MASC) is a regional safety council currently operating in North and South Carolina. Our goal is to increase safety awareness and reduce the number of workplace accidents throughout our region.
Our reasons for existence include:
- Increase safety awareness
- Decrease incidences of workplace injuries
- Provide a forum for owners and contractors to effectively address safety and health issues
- Replace redundant safety orientations conducted by area owner companies with a single comprehensive training program
- Contribute to a better qualified workforce
- It's the right thing to do
We're making progress. Here is our current Safety Performance Report.
Over 150 contractor companies in our region are members of MASC.
Our council is a member of the Association of Reciprocal Safety Councils (ARSC). We honor Basic Orientation Plus™ Training Certification Cards issued by other member councils. Visit the ARSC website for more information.
Participating manufacturing companies require employees to successfully complete the Council's Basic Orientation Plus™ training. Some participating owner companies may also require completion of site-specific training through the Council's Training Centers.
MASC membership is open to both owner and contractor companies, offering benefits including training fee discounts, participation in Council meetings, and access to services such as the Online Contractor Pre-Qualification system. However, company membership is not required to attend training offered by the Council or to access online training programs from this site (see "MOST" on the Training page.)
If your firm is interested in becoming a member or receiving Council news, send an email to Bronwyn Morgan at bmorgan@ma-sc.org.
